AGLOCO - a dud in the making

It seems everyone is is hyping AGLOCO these days, touting how much money they are going to make off of it. If you already signed up, don't go making any plans to spend your fortune just yet.
AGLOCO will fizzle out faster than you can say dot com.

This site is really just a paid to surf scheme. This has been done many times before. Basically you put a viewbar on your page that lets AGLOCO monitor your surfing habits and present you with ads a computer determines that you will be interested in viewing. The user gets a small share of the ad revenue generated. I've never seen this amount to more than about $15 a month, even if you are on the web 12 hours a day.

AGLOCO promises to pay you a portion of the ad revenue everyone you have referred generates and then from their referrals and so on. John Chow says he has 14,000 people signed up in his network. Note that the viewbar is still in beta testing so at this point in time no one is making any money.

Here's the problem. No one looks on the Internet for ads. I'm certainly not putting spyware on my computer so I can earn a few bucks a month while being annoyed by advertisements. I believe that everyone is signing other people up but nobody will actually activate the viewbar when it is released. www.Agloco.com

Get Paid to Ask Questions

Ever wondered what the best way to get tomato stains off a white shirt? Why not ask readers at FunAdvice.com. Not only will you get answers to your stain problem, you'll make a little money in the process.

FunAdvice is a Google Adsense revenue sharing site. After you register FunAdvice will display ads with under your adsense account on 40 percent of the page views to your questions. You probably won't get rich off of this, but spend thirty minutes writing good questions and you can make a few bucks a day.

I found that it takes a good day for the click throughs to start. I surmise this is how long it takes Google to index the question and responses and put the content correct ads on the page.

My best day on FunAdvice earned me $2.07. I've only posted about a dozen questions so that it isn't too bad a return on time. Asking questions based on popular keywords would probably up the number of clicks. Adding other users to your friends list will also increase traffic to your questions.

The one drawback to FunAdvice is that no promotional linking is allowed, so you can't drive people to your own blog.

The Adsense Code

The AdSense Code: What Google Never Told You About Making Money with AdSense

We've all heard stories about those adsense gurus who make tens of thousands of dollars a month, so it's discouraging when our own websites are only pulling $15-$20 a month. Now Joel Comm, a true Google guru, shares some his secrets to making "honey we're going to Disneyland" money with adsense.

I have several websites and blogs and in the first one I started applying Comm's secrets to my click thru rate has gone up 26 percent the first week. I've learned how to blend my ads into the site so it appears more like content than ads, which Comm points out that we trained ourselves to ignore when looking at a website.

The only negative to this book is that Comm is trying to upsell more products to the reader. Despite the somewhat high price for a book that makes liberal use of white space, it is well worth the money.
